Meet our Doctors
Richard M. Launer, M.D.
Dr.
Launer is a Twin Cities native. He completed his undergraduate degree
at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating summa cum laude. When
he returned to the Twin Cities, he earned his medical degree at the University
of Minnesota School of Medicine. Dr. Launer completed ophthalmology residencies
at the Minneapolis Veterans Center, St. Paul Ramsey Hospital, and University
of Minnesota Hospitals.
Dr. Launer has earned a teaching appointment as an Assistant Adjunct Professor
of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota. He is also a Surgical
Consultant/Instructor at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Dr. Launer is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and
as a LASIK Specialist by The American Board of Eye Surgery. Dr. Launer
is also a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), The American
Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS) and The International
Society of Refractive Surgeons (ISRS).
Dr. Launer joined Progressive Eye-Care Associates, P.A. in 1985. He has
admitting and surgical privileges at Midway & HealthEast Hospitals,
Phillips Eye Institute, United Hospital, and Children's Hospital of St.
Paul.
Dr. Launer specializes in LASIK - Laser Vision Correction, no stitch Clear
Cornea Cataract Surgery, implantable collamer lenses, advanced intraocular
lenses and general ophthalmology.
John C. Foley, M.D.
Dr.
Foley is a South Dakota native. He did his undergraduate work at the University
of Notre Dame and received his medical degree from Chicago's prestigious
Northwestern University. Dr. Foley completed ophthalmology residencies
at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago and the University of North Carolina
Hospital in Chapel Hill and the Minneapolis Veterans Center.
Dr. Foley also earned a teaching appointment as an Adjunct Instructor
of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota and is a Surgical Consultant/Instructor
at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Dr. Foley is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and
is Board Certified as a LASIK Specialist by The American Board of Eye
Surgery.
Dr. Foley is a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO),
